Narrative Clay Niche Box: The Powerful and Mysterious Ravens

two ravens inteaing on tree with branches in niche box

Product Number c00092

Ravens are popular in legends and literature. Because of its black plumage, croaking call, and diet of carrion, the raven has long been considered a bird of ill omen and of interest to creators of myths and legends. In Greek mythology they are associalted with Apollo and are a symbol of good luck.

To paraphrase Wikapedia: French anthropologist Claude LĂ©vi-Strauss proposed a structuralist theory that suggests the raven (like the coyote) obtained mythic status because it was a mediator animal between life and death. As a carrion bird, ravens became associated with the dead and with lost souls. Special Order Item. (some differences may occur, each one is unique, I have made three of these; they seem to be popular so I'd like to offer it again!).
